UK Insurtech Konsileo Raises €5.9M to Expand Its AI-Powered Insurance Platform

UK-based chartered insurance broker and insurtech company Konsileo has raised €5.9 million in equity funding. The company has developed its own technology platform to make commercial insurance brokerage faster and easier.

Its platform helps insurance brokers automate administrative tasks and manage compliance requirements, allowing them to spend more time serving customers.

The funding round was led by Committed Capital, with participation from ACF Investors.

Warburton, co-founder and CEO, Konsileo, said, “We’ve always believed that great brokers do their best work when you give them autonomy, equip them properly and support them rather than manage them. Our growth is a testament to what happens when you offer something genuinely different to ambitious brokers who want to build brilliant client relationships.”

Konsileo will use the new funding to hire more experienced insurance professionals and further develop its technology platform by adding AI-powered features. The company also plans to use the investment to maintain its steady growth and expand the business further.

Steven Harris, CEO of Committed Capital, said, “We are delighted to have completed this round and to deepen our long-standing commitment to Konsileo. John, Peter and the team have built one of the fastest-growing independent brokers in the UK, and they have done it organically, broker by broker, rather than through acquisition.

“That growth rests on two things that are very hard to replicate: a proprietary broking platform that strips out administration, embeds compliance and is now putting AI to work for brokers, and a culture that consistently attracts the most talented people in the industry. Konsileo is showing what a modern commercial broker looks like, and we look forward to supporting the team through its next phase of growth.”

Konsileo was founded in 2017 by John Warburton and Peter Henderson. The founders believed the insurance industry was too slow to adopt new technology and had too many complicated processes.

Warburton, who previously held senior roles at Aviva, Accenture, and Allianz, built Konsileo around a more flexible organisational model. The company uses self-managed teams, coaching, and shared decision-making instead of traditional management structures. Henderson brings strong technology and platform-building experience to the company.

Konsileo now has more than 220 employees and arranges over €100.5 million (£85 million) in insurance premiums each year for businesses across the UK. Its customers come from industries such as construction, healthcare, technology, and professional services.

The company has developed its own insurance broking platform that helps automate administrative work and compliance checks. It also helps brokers collect better information about the risks faced by their clients. Konsileo also offers Riskube, an online platform that allows customers to access and manage their insurance policies.

Konsileo’s main goal is to reduce the amount of administrative work brokers have to handle, giving them more time to build client relationships and provide professional advice. Instead of growing through acquisitions, the company hires brokers individually and supports their development through the Konsileo Academy.
