AI Credit Firm F2 Receives $5M Investment from Golub Capital

F2, a New York City-based provider of an agentic operating system for global credit, has secured a $5 million investment from Golub Capital and entered into a strategic partnership with the private credit manager.

As part of the partnership, Golub Capital will deploy F2’s technology and AI capabilities across its investment processes. The platform will use Golub Capital’s proprietary data to support activities including investment screening, due diligence, deal underwriting and portfolio monitoring.

Golub Capital manages more than $90 billion in capital and is increasingly using AI to improve how its investment teams analyze data and manage credit workflows.

F2 was founded and is led by Don Muir, Co-Founder and CEO. Its agentic operating system is designed for credit asset managers, banks and other financial institutions, helping them turn proprietary data, investment processes and institutional knowledge into AI-powered systems.

The platform brings together financial models, data rooms, investment memos, credit files and third-party data through a unified intelligence layer. AI agents can then be deployed across deal screening, underwriting, portfolio management and other firm-wide workflows.

F2 said its platform uses an LLM-agnostic, finance-grade architecture designed around auditability, data sovereignty and token efficiency. This allows financial institutions to use different AI models without rebuilding their core workflows around a single model provider.

The partnership will also create the Global Credit AI Council, an invitation-only forum for senior executives from a select group of private markets institutions. David Golub will serve as the council’s inaugural chair.

The council is expected to provide a forum for discussing emerging AI applications, sharing perspectives on industry adoption and exploring how financial institutions can responsibly integrate AI into investment and operating processes. Founding members are expected to be announced in the coming months.

The investment comes as private credit firms increasingly explore AI for data analysis, risk management, trading and other investment activities. Smaller firms have been among the earlier adopters of generative and agentic AI workflows, while larger institutions have faced greater data, compliance and governance considerations.

For F2, the partnership with Golub Capital provides an opportunity to expand the use of AI-driven workflows in private credit and demonstrate how agentic systems can be integrated into institutional investment processes.
