Spott has raised $21 million in a Series A funding round led by Balderton Capital. Existing investors Base10, Y Combinator, and Fortino also joined the round.
With this latest round, the company’s total funding has reached $24.2 million. The new capital will be used to expand into international markets, grow its enterprise business, and continue developing AI solutions for the recruitment industry.
Spott was founded in Leuven, Belgium, in 2024 by university friends Lander Degreve, Manu Vanderveeren, and Samuel Smeys. The founders previously worked with recruitment companies at McKinsey, Bain, and BCG. They saw that the recruitment industry needed better technology to improve efficiency and replace old, disconnected systems.
Recruitment agencies usually use separate software for managing candidates, clients, and job placements. They often need additional tools for finding candidates, sending messages, taking notes, and scheduling meetings. As a result, recruiters often have to move information manually between different systems.
Spott brings these tasks together in one AI-powered platform. It combines candidate management, search, communication, outreach, and automation. The platform can turn information from emails, CVs, and recruitment pipelines into searchable data, with databases that can contain up to two million candidates.
“During our work with recruitment businesses, we saw firms under intense pressure to cut costs and make more placements, while their recruiters lost hours moving information between outdated systems. Recruitment succeeds through trust and human judgement. Spott gives agencies control of their data and puts AI to work around their recruiters, freeing them to deepen relationships with candidates and clients, “said Lander Degreve, co-founder and CEO of Spott.
Spott will use the Series A funding to expand into international markets and improve its platform for large businesses. The company is opening new offices in Sydney and New York. It also plans to hire more employees and grow its engineering team.
Spott will also invest in its AI technology. Its new AI features will help recruiters identify job openings, track candidates’ career changes, and suggest the next steps in the recruitment process.
