Positron AI, a Reno, Nevada-based artificial intelligence chip startup, has raised $875 million in Series C funding, valuing the company at $5 billion.
The round was co-led by NEA, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, Andra Capital, SemiAnalysis Capital, and Netscape co-founder Jim Clark.
Other investors participating in the round included DFJ Growth, Qatar Investment Authority, Cisco Investments, Naver Ventures, Hudson River Trading, VentureTech Alliance and several other investors.
The new funding brings Positron AI’s valuation to $5 billion, a major increase from its $1 billion valuation in February 2026, when the company raised $230 million.
Led by CEO Mitesh Agrawal, Positron AI develops specialized hardware designed to make AI inference faster and more energy efficient. Its systems focus on improving memory capacity, memory bandwidth and power efficiency when running large AI models.
The company uses LPDDR5X memory in its systems, which can be deployed in both air-cooled and liquid-cooled data centers.
Positron AI’s product portfolio includes Atlas, Asimov custom silicon, and Titan, a multi-terabyte-memory inference system designed for AI workloads that require long context windows.
The company says its technology is designed to help businesses handle the growing demand for AI inference as the use of large language models continues to increase.
Positron AI already works with customers including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Parasail, Jump Trading and i3d.net.
The company plans to use the new Series C funding to expand its operations and accelerate product development as it competes in the rapidly growing AI infrastructure market.
