Reframe Systems, a Boston-based physical AI company focused on modernizing home construction, has raised $40 million in additional funding.
The round was led by Energy Impact Partners (EIP) with participation from Counterpart Ventures, E12 Ventures, Global Brain, Thin Line Capital, Up Partners, LACI Impact Fund, Eclipse, VoLo Earth, Cubit Capital, RA Capital Management, MassMutual Catalyst and Nor’easter.
Founded by former Amazon Robotics leaders, Reframe Systems combines robotics, software and automated microfactories to build homes faster and at lower costs.
Its platform connects home design with production, automates fabrication tasks, and uses digital work instructions to make construction more efficient.
The company plans to use the new funding to expand its microfactory network across North America, increase home deliveries in New England, and open a new production facility in Billerica, Massachusetts. The new facility is designed to produce up to 500 multifamily units or 250 single-family homes each year.

With our technology, we’re able to deliver infill housing, such as a triple-decker in Somerville, in 180 days and help families in Altadena rebuild wildfire-resilient bungalows in months instead of years. With our model, every home we deliver makes the next one faster and cheaper to build, because our software, robotics and network learn from each deployment. That demand is why we’re expanding, and why we’re now targeting one million homes by 2040, five years ahead of schedule.”

Reframe has already completed 10 homes, including accessory dwelling units and apartment buildings, with eight currently occupied. The company expects to deliver 114 more units over the next year across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and California.
Reframe says its approach can deliver homes up to three times faster and at 35% lower cost than traditional construction. The company aims to build one million homes worldwide by 2040.
